US demands Yemen to adopt UN road map

The United States requires the government of Yemen to accept the UN road map after the civil war, a spokesman for the State Department, Mark Toner, told reporters at a briefing.

“We urge the Yemeni government to adopt a road map.” We recognize that the road map includes the need for a complex choice and stress that compromises and concessions are required from all sides necessary for a lasting political settlement, “Toner said.

According to him, the US is disappointed with the first reaction of the government of Yemen, which spoke out against the “road map” on the grounds that it de facto recognizes armed rebels as a side of the settlement along with the government.

In Yemen, an armed conflict continues in 2014, in which, on the one hand, the Shushi insurgent hussites, Ansar Alla, and a part of the army loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, and on the other hand government troops and militia loyal to President Abd Rabb Mansour Hadi. Support from the air and on land to the authorities is provided by the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
