In the 2nd quarter of 2018, the number of new credit cards issued by Russian banks increased by 59.1% and amounted to 2.42 million units compared to 1.52 million cards for the same period in 2017, according to the National Bureau of credit histories (nbki).
In April-June, the largest number of new issued credit cards in the regions of the Russian Federation (among the 40 leading regions in terms of this type of retail lending) was noted in Moscow (150.2 thousand units), Moscow region (114.5 thousand units), Krasnodar region (87.4 thousand units), St. Petersburg (83.8 thousand units), Sverdlovsk region (73.2 thousand units) and the Republic of Bashkortostan (72.7 thousand units). In turn, the smallest number of credit cards was issued in Ulyanovsk (19.7 thousand units), Tver (20.0 thousand units), Vladimir (20.0 thousand units) and Arkhangelsk (20.1 thousand units). units) regions, as well as in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (20.4 thousand units).
